I was in Venice on a bright January morning. If you get up early enough forsake breakfast and scramble to the lagoon shore by San Marco this is the type of scene that presents itself. In the background is the Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore, while in the foreground gondolas gently move as the sun begins to emerge from the east, creating those gorgeous golden orange tones in the sky.
